Ama Animists of Papua New GuineaCall: OC/PA-02 The Ama, an animist people group in the East Sepik province of Papua New Guinea, have already built a church in preparation for Seventh-day Adventist missionaries! SDA church work began among the Ama in the 1960s but has not been sustained. Wycliffe Bible translators gave them the Scriptures in their language in the meantime. Local people have waited for decades for SDA missionaries while hanging on to the few Adventist beliefs they were taught and mingling them with their animistic culture.
