The preliminary diagnosis is papillary thyroid hyperplasia, but Tuesday we'll have confirmation as to whether this is cancerous or not. Reportedly, when this teacher was telling the students about Jesus words to turn the cheek when you are struck on one cheek, he said, "Yeah, right! As if anyone is going to do that!" Helen was distressed to hear this report, especially since Socrates (now in his early teens) has lots of questions and doubts about the Lord anyway. His dad is pretty much an atheist. Then today, Helen reported that the same teacher asked the class if they knew what killed Jesus. He gave them the clue that He hadn't bled to death. Socrates raised his hand and said, "He died from the burden of taking the sins of the world on Himself." Helen said that the teacher laughed and scorned the idea, telling the kids that he died of suffocation and then went on to explain how crucifixion leads to suffocation. Socrates complained to his mom that he had only shared what she told him and was scorned for that. Please join us in praying for Socrates. Pray that the Lord will take a hold of his young heart. He is a very talented child and I would love to see him firmly in the Lord.
